The community of Country Club was once the location of the Escondido Country Club in California. As of 2016, the venue was closed but today residents still enjoy many amenities and beautiful landscapes.
The Country Club subdivision is comprised of a variety of single family homes and townhomes. This community is served by the Escondido Union School District and the Escondido Union High School District. Students may attend facilities such as Reidy Creek Elementary School, Rincon Middle School, and Escondido High School. If you are interested in private schooling there are several schools in this area like Calvin Christian Elementary, Ascension Lutheran, St. Mary’s School, and Summerhill School. There are many higher learning facilities nearby such as Westminster Seminary California and California Pacific University.
There are several shopping centers around the area by Interstate 15 and the 78 Freeway. Visitors enjoy going to Westfield North County, Escondido Village Mall Shopping Center, and Escondido Promenade. This city’s downtown region has been busier in the last few years as several art galleries, cafes, and restaurants have opened.
Escondido has fifteen parks including Woodland Park and Rod McLeod Park. Across Interstate 15 is the Reidy Creek Golf Course which offers 18 unique holes, beautiful water features, and challenging bunkers designed by Cal Olson. This venue also hosts weddings and other special events.
Escondido is one of San Diego County’s oldest cities and was incorporated in 1888. Its name means “hidden” in Spanish and is thought to refer to “hidden water” or “hidden treasure.” Top employers include the Palomar Medical Center, the local school districts, the City of Escondido, and the North County Transit District. This is also the most recent home of the Stone Brewing Co.
